LELANT & HAYLE
Lelant and Hayle lie on opposite sides of the Hayle Estuary (popular with bird-watchers) which opens out into St Ives Bay. Lelant is a small village home to the medieaval church of St Uny's which is situated on the edge of Porth Kidney Sands, overlooking the West Cornwall Golf Club.
Hayle blossomed during the early industrial revolution supplying coal from Wales to the foundries for copper and tin smelting. Nowadays it's famous for arguably the best pasties (Philps and Hampsons) and three miles of golden sands. Please click on an image for more.
